New “wayland_server” version (0.1.20241213-1) available, which includes fixes for the most common crasher and the most common “quits spontaneously” as they turned out to be the same problem (mostly done by me), as well as a significant improvement to redraw efficiency (mostly done by @X512.) The redraw efficiency optimization affects just about every GTK3 application, so not only “Iceweasel” but also GNOME Web, GIMP, Inkscape, etc. will also now have much less CPU usage in redraws.

I don’t know if it is possible at the moment but, it would be nice if Iceweasel was not referring to itself as Nightly but as Iceweasel. It leads a bit to confusion since both packages are existing.

I had an issue with nightly firefox: continuous pop up windows,
so, I’ll uninstall it,
I’ll keep only iceweasel.
It is possible but lower priority than fixing bugs for me. I welcome github PR!
EDIT: there was a patch for old debian’s Iceweasel, but changing branding completely requires changes to many translatable strings and it may conflict when importing upstream changes, so I did only minimal change to rename app can be achieved with build option.

This topic too long to follow, and I think we have done porting phase and fixing bugs and improving behavior on Haiku.
