Problems building Haiku

I’m trying to build Haiku [don’t know what revision but it’s fairly recent] in a VMware VM of the standard Alpha 2 release, running on top of Mac OS X 10.6.2. I’m not sure what the problem is but I am fairly sure it’s the compiler, however I can’t provide output. I get many ‘failed’ messages and it won’t build the image due to lack of various files. I don’t know what’s wrong, I’ve configured it and even run the buildtools compiler.

You likely require newer Haiku than Alpha 2 to build Haiku with. There were changes that happened to build tools and maybe the POSIX headers.

Building haiku inside a virtual machine is slow. Way faster to cross compile on MacOS X.
