The basic tools that I would like to port are:

  • Update Tool 1
  • Software Update GUI 2
  • Desktop Notifier 3

Wouldn’t it be better to work on the half finished haiku packet manager?

Can port only the graphical interface to haiku packet manager!

The licensing looks bad for having using it officially in any way. Better to start on a frontend from scratch or find a better candidate.

Is possible to use the concepts in the frontend.

i can only see things going very wrong by using something made by oracle

Take what is good, as experience with the user to generate an interface from scratch.
