New SoB TeamHaiku member: PunStar, jfreeman

Looks like we got a couple new team members crunching SoB for TeamHaiku: PunStar and jfreeman!

Thanks for the support!

Yes. Welcome!

I thought there were some new members when I looked at the list this morning. The list has expanded so much that I lost track. At least umccullough is on top of it.

I do try! - i keep a mental note of how many we have any time I check the list… Today was kinda tough because PunStar actually contributed a HUGE chunk before I noticed… I had to go up the list looking for big contributors that I didn’t recognize, and cross-reference with my "new member" messages

But also not to forget. We’ve hit another community milemarker. 20 members have contributed each more than 10T. And we’ve reached 70 members (even though Konrad is a big questionmark).

The shuffling is over as well, and this week we will beat TeamBeOS hands down, and that feels a bit magic, don’t you think?

I figured since we’re so close to beating TeamBeOS, I had to throw in some of my weight for SoB. I got started slowly yesterday–had thought my SATA RAID was FUBARed–but I should be churning out some okay crunches now.

I think I might throw three old Athlons on board as well, if I can get SoB working in Linux. (Any tips would be appreciated…)

I’m wondering what kinda hardware PunStar has, though.

Greatly Appreciated!

I wanna know what Darkwyrm did yesterday to get a 1500 M spike

He gave Counter Strike a rest…

The spike is apparently the accumulation of work being uploaded all in one shot. The network at work was running into connectivity issues, but the machines were still running, so work was still being done even if it wasn’t being uploaded to the SoB servers just yet, which would partly explain some of the lag over the long weekend. I fixed the problems around lunchtime yesterday and apparently everything was submitted at once or something. Counter Strike would imply that I actually use Windows for something useful.

Interesting - my experience has always shown that the rate averages out over the time since the test was checked out - but MAYBE it averages out over the time since the first block was submitted… and I’m assuming these were the first times any of these machines had submitted a block on the tests they were performing?

I will have to dig in a bit further so that I understand how the stats work… i thought I had it figured out.
