Media player is broken

the media player is completely unusable as of now, unfortunately (i dunno why) it happens that if you move the cursor while watching videos or listening to music, file will restart completely…this need to be fixed cause it’s really irritating…

It is a well known problem/issue…
No need to file a bug… be patience!

well you’re too late cause i’ve already reported it, thanks anyway…i read somewhere that there is anither media player called aplayer, maybe this one does not have the issue?

Well known? I never noticed anything like this!
If you think something is well known, make sure there is an existing bugreport, and add a link to it. It will save everyone a lot of time.

Ah ok I must be drunk then…
Media Player is a stable programm…

Great work thanks…

Give smplayer a try…

I can’t get the MediaPlayer to reliably play through a playlist myself, so I have pretty much given up on it all together.

Where are the bugreports? It works fine here.

The one I opened concerning my issue is right here: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/13989

Something like that happens with my old notebook touchpad, if you play a bit with the pointer around the MP window, in particular the seek bar, then you will see the video randomly restarting and seeking. Ever happened since I own this notebook (10 years?).

Speaking of touchpads, someone (maybe John?) once implemented two fingers scrolling, I don’t know why people requested to revert it, but it worked a lot better, also the problem in the topic was less evident.

Since I think MP seek with mouse scrolling, the issues should be related.
