I’d like to pick out the best possible motherboard to go with Haiku Beta for use in TT computers. It’d need HDA audio, onboard Ethernet that works stably, some USB ports, and in a perfect world, serial ports, micro ATX form factor. Most important of all, the best stability we can possibly achieve. Any and all thoughts would be really welcome.

You probably want to get a known working Mobo and a processor with known working graphics… I’m looking and testing out a KGPE-D16 system soon a bit dated but still beefy and easy to add a ton of ram to inexpensively. A thing to watch out for is quirky USB3 chipsets. Ryzen doesn’t work well yet but it’s being worked on I can boot my Asrock ITX board + AMD Ryzen 1700x with the 4GB ram limit enabled and and other than 4GB ram limit it’s super fast. Vega graphics do not work so I set it to failsafe graphics, I culd install an RX560 and it would be fine though most likely. I would suggest getting a Radeon Northern Islands card as that and Intel graphics up to Haswell is what will work the soonest when waddlesplash gets going on the 3d acceleration work. Vega graphics doesn’t work yet.
That said Radeon GCN cards probably up to Polaris RX580 should work, definitly don’t buy a card that is blacklisted here https://github.com/haiku/haiku/blob/abb59d7351c7ddb50c63c40430a82d94fa61917a/src/add-ons/kernel/drivers/graphics/radeon_hd/driver.cpp

RX560 radeon graphics card works fine as long as you use standard 16:9 ratio displays. I have to use the failsafe video with ultrawide display at 3440x1440.
From my experience, avoid Ryzen APUs with integrated vega graphics. I picked the Ryzen 5 2400G to avoid expending money on a video card, and now I’m stuck on VESA for now.
MSI Ryzen motherboards work well too, as long as you keep in mind the USB trick, setting it to compatibility mode, and use the USB 2.0 ports on the back for keyboard/mouse.
Remember there is no audio through HDMI/DP, at least when using VESA mode.
And @cb88 is right with the 4GB limit, still with the last hrev52394 it is needed.

That depends on both performance needs for your use case, had not realized that Dane needed that motherboard to setup a more stable and modern platform to commercially offer its customers in TuneTracker Systems when he request to Haiku Community Forums at Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/haikuosgroup/permalink/2118981464799760/?comment_id=2119207141443859&reply_comment_id=2120166404681266¬if_id=1539268466475694¬if_t=group_comment_reply ), and that requires a series of guarantees that the most trademarks and basic motherboards do not provide.
I have understood that they previously used until a few years motherboards based on AMD chipset F2A55M (A55 chipset with Socket FM2 TuneTracker problem ) does not know if it is the Gigabyte version (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-F2A55M-HD2 -Rev-10 # ov) or the Asus one (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/F2A55M/), but as precisely that and he are now proposing that ASRock Mo-bo ($79.90) that is a WorkStation level Component with Corporate Stable Supply Management and a Minimum Limited Warranty period (for parts and labor) of 3 years (5 years on the Asus ones) but KEEPING THE COST LOW… (https://www.amazon.com/.../off.../B009O7YZAG/ref=dp_olp_0…) [$99.90] (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx… ) [Out of Stock]

No serial port in that one. Should be able to find a similar one with a serial/com port on the motherboard.
For example, at a similar price (but requires 8th generation CPU), and has a com port:

I know you got burned on the AMD boards a little… but you did select a low end board. The Hudson D2 board is really just intended for HTPCs etc… and not workstations.
There is nothing inherently unstable about AMD boards vs Intel boards so limiting yourself there may acutally hurt you since AMD boards are as performant as Intel boards on average and tend to be cheaper and have longer lifespans. Don’t skimp on the board you’re better off running on a $200 stable board with a $100 CPU etc… than spending a bunch of money on an Intel CPU.
Unless of course you are aiming for a cheap low end build then really there’s nothing you can do but buy it and test 
but quality is probably going to vary more over time than more expensive boards.
