Iphone, ipod, itouch, and ipad support?

i think it would be wise for the devs to port over the apple mobile device driver to haiku for charging and tethering capabilities. either that our build a new driver from scratch to specifically support these devices. i know that having itunes on haiku is a longshot, but i’d still like to be able to charge my iDevice and tether internet from it to my haiku device. i also know that many other people out there would also like that to. and maybe if we dont get an official itunes on haiku, maybe (if we get some apple mobile device driver ports or clones) we can get an itunes clone to manage our music and even sync with iDevices such as iphones, ipods, and ipads, it could be called beTunes.

Devs: pppplease consider

There are plenty of libraries for *nix that can do that. Why don’t you try to compile them on Haiku? Who knows, maybe it’ll compile.
On a slightly meaner note, why did you buy an “iDevice” anyways? They don’t offer anything special, and there are plenty of better devices that aren’t tied to any one bit of software. Here’s a few companies you can look at: Cowon, Archos, iRiver, Samsung. Phones: Blackberries work, anything with Andriod will work, Palm Pre/Pixi/Plus, Nokia’s phones. There’s lots of things out there that are no where near as restrictive, try one of them.

i’m sorry but i was just giving a small suggestion for supreme compatability and am not gonna ditch my iphone for a different device, that would mean spending more money
im not very tch savvy myself, but i would like to see some sort of driver to recognize my iphone so it can charge and tether
i noticed when i booted up haiku that my iphone, when plugged in, doesn’t do anything at all in reference to the computer
i just think that if someone could get a driver like that going then a media suite could follow hence beTunes

No need to appologize, I was purposely being antagonistic. Though if I were you I would try to compile the libraries for charging/reading/writing to ipods. That way you can at least identify what’s wrong, so that someone with the skills to fix it doesn’t have to. In the mean time, why not pick up a bit of programing yourself? That way you can implement it without having to depend on others.
