The new ShowImage in the latest Distro from the HAIKU build factory is cool with lots of features and slideshow support…
:idea: It would be really nice if it comes with a nice toolbar with bottons to view the Next and Previous images in the directory of the current selected image… , it is now currently supported through the menu but it is really tedious to go through the menu to view the next image… 
and please please … support it through the mouse wheel also…
:idea: Buttons for opening, Saving, Rotating, Color adjustments, Resizing and to SetPicture as Wallpaper… will sure add a pro touch to the ShowImage
:idea: now the image is displayed from the upper-left corner, it will look good if the image is displayed from the center.
:idea: -and would be really nice if the window is sized according to the size of the image (maintaining a minimum reasonable size for the window)and placed initially in the center of the Monitor.
I wish that my team could take credit for the fine work on ShowImage, but we can’t. 
IIRC, it is all the fine work of Michael Wilber, our Translation Kit lead. You might want to e-mail him directly about feature requests.

The Haiku ShowImage was a collaboration between myself and Michael Pfeiffer. Though, if you have bugs to report or features to request, I am the person to contact. The address is: mwilber at users dot sourceforge dot net.
Unfortunately though, I no longer have the time to add new features to ShowImage. Another problem is that there are many areas of Haiku that need attention more than ShowImage. Unless I am forgetting something, the Haiku ShowImage has all the features of the BeOS R5 ShowImage, and more. Before any more features are added to ShowImage, I feel that many other components of Haiku should be completed.
Since we have very limited developer resources, we have to be careful about what we spend our time on if we want to finish other areas of the project. I agree that ShowImage could be much better with new features, but unfortunately, this will have to wait until after higher-priority tasks have been completed.
