We need to have more software ported and deleted for Haiku, to attract new users and developers of content!
Did you used lates nigtly and haiku depot + all latest repositorys?
Did you checked haikuporter? Or maybe also the latest builded hpkgs? https://eu.hpkg.haiku-os.org
We are quite very far from that. Some things that would be needed before I even dare to tell Haiku is somewhat media oriented:
- Working MediaConvert
- Working DVD and Blueray playback
- Working youtube and other video/music streaming websites
- No media server crashes
- Working sound drivers on all machines, out of the box
That’s just a minimal set of things we should solve if we are serious about “media”. And this isn’t even design/multimedia production, but just basic consumer needs.
I’ve used them all!
It’s imperative to have a to-do list, with software that needs to be ported to Haiku!
For ported software there is https://github.com/haikuports/haikuports/issues with quite a long list of things to do.
