The mdnsresponder package is on depot for x86-64, x86-32, and riscv64 apparently (!!!). Unsure if they still work OK on beta6. That part didn’t required changes on Haiku, and I think keeping it on HaikuPorts makes sense.
My last post in that threads mentions some tests I’ve done after @phoudoin did some work on Haiku’s side around nssswitch.conf files usage, but it didn’t changed much for my poor attempts.
That, plus the fact that I don’t really have a LAN since about 1.5/2 years ago (only connecting to internet via metered USB-tethering now 
), means motivation from my side is a bit too low (just like my skills :-D).
