On first glance that sounds indeed like a good idea. And in case of the “built-in” apps of the OS it really is.
On the other hand, if you consider the international user of a localized OS, this might not always be the case. It may be better to go with an app name independant of its function, which then won’t be translated.
On the third hand, an app name can remain unranslated in a localized system, like “Weather”, and the user doesn’t really have know what “weather” means and just treats it as it’s given name…
