Hello everyone, I’m from China.
I used a Dell laptop previously and it worked perfectly fine. I recently got a mid-2010 Apple iMac all-in-one from a friend, equipped with an i5-720 processor and an NVIDIA Quadro K610M graphics card.
Now whenever I try to boot the system via a USB drive, the boot process freezes at the last loading icon. This happens with both the latest nightly build and the R1 version. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
The first thing I do when troubleshooting a boot issues is to get into the boot options menu and use the failsafe video driver.
If that doesn’t work, try some of the other safe mode options.
If that still doesn’t work, I think there is an option to write or display the syslog which will give you more information that is helpful for troubleshooting.

I second Nighthawk, as soon as the computer starts booting keep tapping the space bar until the haiku options menu pops up. From there you can navigate and choose options to turn off. First thing is set to use fail safe video, likely main culprit, second go to the menu for error logging and chose to see messages and not page, at least that’s what I like, if it crashes it will show what it was trying to do and then you can attempt to address the issue it doesn’t like. It can also save a copy so you can read any issues during earlier in the boot process, and there are a lot with Mac’s. I have haiku running, without proper video and no sound or networking on a 2012 MacBook Air. My 2017 MacBook Pro crashes at finding bootable drive. The adventure continues.

It’s not about holding the pressure on space, but hitting like crazy … 
Also critical : when you hit. On a quicker machine you can simply miss the time window, when functioning.
And yeah it is for EFI 64 bit booting, on 32bit legacy bootloader you should use [SHIFT] instead …
I checked here, and with [Shift] key … you must be holding the pressure …

try hold Shift while booting?
If you have Linux or macOS on the drive try installing refined, I find it seems to slow the process down enough to catch the keystroke for the boot options.
Hold down the Option (Alt ⌥) key when powering on your Mac to select USB boot.
I currently have Linux installed on the machine.
On a Mac, to boot from a USB drive, you need to hold down the Option (Alt ⌥) key immediately after turning it on. Only then will the boot selection screen appear, allowing you to pick the USB drive with the Haiku installed.
If I hold down the Shift key or repeatedly tap the Spacebar once on that selection screen, the system crashes instantly.
If I press no keys at all during bootup, the boot process hangs at the final loading icon.
That’s why refind can help, with refind you don’t need to use the option key, it presents a gui interface with all efi bootable drives, partitions and such. You can even plugin a usb drive once on that screen and hit esc and if it has an efi it will show it. You select your haiku drive and then start tapping space bar.

Ok, looks like you got into the debug screens, that’s great and gives a peek at possible problems. I am not a expert on the kernel or drivers but it looks like the usb controller is an issue, I have a similar issue with my 2017 MacBook Pro, from some research I did it may have to do with usb-c. Not sure if you are using usb-c, maybe someone else on here can assist you and me as well.
Unfortunately, I don’t have my systems with me, I am a truck driver and have limited space and internet access. So I have to save up what I learn and test things when I get home if I have time.
