I’ve come back to using Netsurf and Webpositive on Haiku more often lately, and have been laying off of the NetBSD/Odroid-C1 Soc machine (can’t wait til that runs Haiku).
Anyway, I see the HTML5 support in Webpositive is getting pretty good. Html5test.com gives it a 390 score. One thing it’s missing is the HTML5 WebAudio API. That API would allow me to use Webpositive to make use of sites like this one:
Yes - for that site you can use Java applets in lieu of the HTML5 WebAudio API, but I’d prefer not to add a third party package just to get the audio going…
In order to access http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/ with sound and waterfall enabled, I tried the alternative to the HTML5 WebAudio API, which is the java applet.
Even though I’d rather have HTML5 audio, does anyone know the status of WebPositive relative to using java applets?
That said hopefully someone can get HTML5 audio working… I thought it was at some point? HTML5 video used to work as well I think it still does.[/quote]
LOL - yeah I might agree there. This is a pretty arcane application (webSDR). I think the people who run it are depreciating the java part due to the signing issues. Relative to HTML5 audio, the webAudio API has more functionality than what is needed for YT, etc. and WebSDR needs that extra functionality.
