Haiku won't. . . shutdown?

this has been bothering me for some time, but every time I shut down, it goes shuts down into shell (I think) and I have to type ‘exit’ to get out of it. And then it restarts and I have to press the power button when it gets to the lenovo boot screen. It’s been like this on my netbook since alpha 3. What’s going on? sorry, I don’t really know much about this stuff. . . :frowning:

You have a crash at shutdown and come to Kernel Debug Land. It would be very useful if you could report this as a bug so it can be fixed.

Hi, I have verified my email but it still won’t let me report a bug. . . is there any other way I can do this?

The message at the crash is very short, it goes:

Double Fault!
Welcome to Kernel Debugging Land. . .
Thread 253 “shutdown worker” running on CPU 0
kdebug>

Could you type “bt” in kdebug> prompt and post the output.

Oh, I uninstalled it before I saw that post. I tried to bring up the live cd again, but this time it won’t even boot–it goes straight to the white screen and the error messages :frowning:

Anyway, I will try again when I have time. It’s really nice though, in the relatively short time I was using it on my netbook.
