I was referring to rudolfc 's drivers. But i don’t know if i feel optimistic with the x512 to in future add some support for gtx9xx and gtx10xx.
Maybe with some bits of nouveau?
Open Nvidia kernel driver can’t be used for GPUs older than Turing because it have no GSP microcontroller. So work in this topic unfortunately do not help for older GPUs.
It will become much harder task and I expect it will be not done in next 2 years unless some Linux DRM expert will come to Haiku team.
I say not for acceleration. But for to simply just work.
Very great work!
Does it work with CUDA, Blender support now?
@rudolfc knows better on this topic.
I own some gtx 1050 tI gpu, and it works with HAIKU!
With what driver??
CUDA need Nvidia proprietary userland drivers, so no. But Vulkan compute is working. Accelerated video decode with Vulkan should be supported after this patch will be merged: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/31867.
Zink currently have troubles with NVK, I need to update Zink to latest version that should fix problems.
No driver needed it just works, but with VESA!
Pascal is too old for this driver.
he cheapest Turing option is the GTX 1650 Super ( the super part is important ). otherwise get a 1050 Ti.
Vesa driver using legacy boot not uefi boot. Because in uefi boot there’s no driver and gop does not be very helpful at all. But i believe in the miracles of @X512 .
Can ZLUDA works on that driver?
maybe it can give the basic support to CUDA on that driver?
NVidia should reward X512 for his efforts, since a lot of us will be getting nVidia cards in the future
Yes that is correct but as i said i believe in the micracles of @X512 and i hope will make some other older cards to work. Because i haven’t got a RTX nVidia card only gtx and those are quite some older. An even to touch radeon drivers and will see what happens in the future.
do you have any early test images or packages to help you with testing?
pscnv driver.
Some screenshots showing how various games work with this driver.
Thanks @X512 for the awesome job!
