Could someone please help me word out the code bounty over at www.haikubounties.org for the networking kit? Please email suggestions.
I need it to be very specific, what Haiku would expect from the developer. i.e compatibility with bone, netserver, any drivers, sockets, gui interface, interoperability, etc…
We really need to have a consensus on what we want. Perhaps contact those who donated, and we can all work something out? Compatibility with existing drivers seems eminent. I personally would like to see the BSD stack used as a starting point, rather than rolling from scratch.
Basically make it R5-compatible as a bare minimum requirement.
Maybe i’ll mention something on the bounty site… you see, I was trying to get a precise, technical, programming list of features that should be mandatory for the bounty. I’m not sure that donators know exactly what’s needed for the networking stack, and thats why I contacted the current networking team. I need more than ‘basic’ requirements…

Axel responded to a thread about this just yesterday:
BTW, I don’t think drivers will be affected much - except maybe wifi drivers, as they really require a special configuration method with their own stack, etc.
