It’s not a matter of “can it be done”, but “should we do it”. I find that shadows on MacOS for example just get in the way. They don’t look good, they prevent me from seeing what’s in the other windows, and they don’t bring any functionality. That’s why I don’t want them.

This is probably one of them ‘personal preferences’ things.
I agree, this could easily be made optional through a setting in the Appearance Preflet. (It could even be off by default if wanted)
Fully agree. There are much more important things that need to be done by the small team of core developers. What is discussed here, aside from it’s personal preference aspect, it’s just a nice Todo item. Such items, in my opinion, should be targeted after R1.
