Haiku Activity & Contract Report, October 2025 | Haiku Project

Very nice marketing view!
Would be good to name the next release something like Pre-R1 or Test R1…
Sounds better than Beta 7!

Sometimes I have the feeling no one really wants to really work on the few bugs in the Roadmap…

I think, As soon you announce a Beta 7, people will start to have a look at Haiku and report numerous new bugs then…

EDIT:
Sorry, forgot the original post I wanna do:
Thanks for you hard and continuous work on Haiku! Special thanks to all the new contributors! Heartly welcome!

Again a nice report with quite some new updates, thanks to all involved, also to the new contributors! :sparkling_heart:

Developing native office software should be independent from OS development itself. As long as there are usable office software (which can be ported), its fine. Otherwise, what can others do during waiting for the native office software developers’ progress? So yes, that’s never something in milestone R1 (and later).

Great job to everybody, so nice to see there’s been lots of progress in October.

Hello @cian, this is really OT, but do you still have the hardware to test Bug 10193?
For some reason (what’s left of) the pc I used for that bug report won’t boot from USB so I’d have to set up a DVD writer to check it on my side.

That machine went to e-waste during a clearout I did during the pandemic unfortunately.
