It’s surprising how long cleaning up the code took. It took pretty much as long as coding the actual feature!
Now it’s code review time, where even more quality improvements occur.

Have been playing with this a bit.
Sooooo nice 
Tiny bug, though: the assigned opacity doesn’t get saved, it resets to full opacity (255) when closing and opening the file again.
Worth a ticket, or is it a known bug?
