I’m getting a Grub Error 17 after I install Haiku to my drive. I’m using the entire disk so I think I don’t even need grub so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Installing to a Fujitsu u810 laptop.
Now if I boot from the CD and hit the space bar for the Haiku boot loader and then choose my hard drive installation it loads right up, so the basic install is fine.
Is there and easy way to fix this so I can move on to trying to get all my devices tested and working?
It has an Atheros mini PCI e card for wireless I’d like to get working. I haven’t tested the wired ethernet port yet.
You must have had Linux installed with Grub in MBR. Haiku install appears not to have removed Grub from MBR - still there and looking for Linux partition.
One solution is to type “bootman” in Haiku terminal. This will install Haiku boot loader into MBR - Replacing Grub with bootman.
Right now I cannot think of any other way to remove Grub boot loader from MBR other than replacing it with another boot loader.
Thanks I’ll give that a try later when I put the Haiku disk back into the machine. I’m running it on Compact Flash cards so I can just swap OS cards when I want to work with a different OS.
