Hello, guys…
Way back in the past now, I’d asked if booting on an iBook G3 was probable. A few months back, I traded that for the G4 Altivec version. With that in mind, I had a quick question: What on earth would it take to put this OS on it?
Can Haiku be booted from Linux? But, how? Remember, PowerPC uses yaboot, not grub. Now, if someone knows how to map the kernel file and such in grub, I can translate that in yaboot.
What about BSD? Haiku borrows from BSD driver stacks and such anyway, so is that possible?
Oh, and, I have tried the CD Haiku uses to pass OpenFirmware–it does not work, as it doesn’t fully understand the firmware.
I don’t care how I’d get Haiku to boot on here, but I’ve got to somehow!!!
Haiku is a x86 arch based OS not a PowerPC based. the last Be OS version to support PowerPC was R4.5 (I think).
You can virtual machines on Linux and test Haiku img…

However Haiku crashes on first icon. These images are pretty old too, so you will have to get someone to make one for you. Haiku is mean to make a new image every few weeks for PPC and ARM.
@Setlec - Haiku comes in many different ports; additionally, because it is open source, it can be compiled to any platform, given the hardware and firmware support.
I can compile and build programs. With that in mind, I’m aware that the ppc releases are from January, and if anyone knows how to boot the software, only then will I take the time to build and try this. Thanks!
The PowerPC port actually exists and boots to a degree:

Look at the bottom, you can boot PowerPC code via the network.
