Failed to donate

Hi,

This is my first post here, so hello everyone!

I’ve been a supporter of BeOS for some time, and infact had R4 installed for about a couple of years. I’ve followed the Haiku/OpenBeOS throughout with great interest.

Tonight I thought I’d make a donation as I’d been meaning to for some time now. I clicked on the “Support US” link, and selected “Network for Good” link, as I’ve not been impressed with PayPal in the past. I got as far as creating a login account there, only to be told that payments by card can only be accepted from within the US, and that I had to use PayPal. Guys, it would be VERY helpful of you put a note on the Haiku webpage by “Network for Good” to say ‘US only’! Anyway, with that I headed back to Haiku and re-selected Paypal directly. I filled out everything correctly only to be told that either my card number or email address had been used before (entierly possible for me). It would not let me reuse my current card number without a valid login, and I do not know the password for my email address login at PP. So, I click the link “forgot your password?” and was presented a form where once I’d filled it in correctly, it said I’d receive an email with instructions on how to reset my password. I’m still awaiting the email (I did this twice, I know I got the email addr correct).

Point is, I’d like very much to donate to this project, but the simple fact is I can’t. I have no other card I can use, and I’m not giving any other email addresses to PP either. I’m really sorry that my first post here has turned into a rant, as I really wish only the best for this project. Please guys, get this one sorted!

Best Wishes.
Toonie.

Looks like your issue is mainly with Paypal not working properly. You’ll have to sort that out with Paypal.

Good point about Network For Good (USA only). Should have a note.

You can always send a cheque instead (or if you don’t feel comfortable with that (because your bank info is on it), then there is money order too).

Otherwise, it looks like Paypal is your only other option.

Note added.

Regarding the PayPal problem, well, we obviously can’t restore your PayPal password. You should talk to PayPal directly.

I had placed an online order about the same timeframe using PayPal for the transaction, and it screwed my shipping and billing addresses up with the company I ordered from. Maybe they were experiencing issues at the time.

Thanks for the replies, and also for taking on board my comments on the website. I will give PayPal another go at sorting the mess out. I have to add though they’re not one of my favorite online companies.

Best regards,
Tony.
