I am probably wishing for something impossible, but is there a way to clone just one arch of the build tools in order to avoid cloning the whole repo with uneeded files and history?
No, and it would not really save a lot of space anyway. A lot of the code in gcc and binutils is cross platform
It’s too bad, the repo is over 1 GB, and having an unstable connection it often fails and i have to start over, even if i use --depth 1 the sames size is cloned.
