Since python2 is being EOLed very soon now, I don’t see the need to depend on it anymore.
Hmm you really want to commit in a separate branch instead of master, makes it simpler to update after the merge.
Also, why change the author of the patch, I suppose it’s mostly identical?
Chances are it is identical. I’ve though been burned already by simply “reusing” a patch without recreating it. I can though try simply reusing the patch hoping it works.
I’ve recreate the fork now with a branch “scons-3.1.1” and leaving the patch alone. Pull request is here: https://github.com/haikuports/haikuports/pull/4437
