I think BeOS deserve to rest in peace.

That trademark was just a ghost of its former commercial existence.
Let them both rest in peace.

Haiku has its own trademark and is still alive.
There is no legacy without passing away, in the end.

Those didn’t help but the fact that no matter what size funding or development, unless they had more money than Microsoft, Microsoft was blocking them from getting it installed on ANY computer that you could actually buy from a major PC company that anyone trusted.

To put it another way. It doesn’t matter how great a car is if you are blocked from being able to sell it. That’s what happened to Be Inc. Everything else is somewhat true. But what I talked about is 100% true about why Be Failed.

Derek is a great guy, but that podcast is not entirely factually correct in either time lines or certain content. I re listened to it after you(?) mentioned it a few weeks ago. It’s interesting, but he for sure over simplified some stuff and glossed over other facts.

Take it or dump it, here is my Amiga user opinion.

BeOS is a name that was forgotten in the real world. Haiku is known and I think it’s respected. You can even find it on important websites ( DistroWatch.com: Haiku ). In the Amiga world, the Amiga named OS seems to be more wide spread than the MorphOS system because the Amiga name is what is known. If you want Haiku to expand, don’t waste time by going back in time. “Haiku” is what represents fast booting and other features. “BeOS” represents a system that got frozen in stone many years ago.
