9 years later??
Ahoy,
I installed Audacious last year, when I tried out players for direct CD Audio play, but as it does not scale at all I could not handle on Full HD resolution. The whole interface parts are so tiny … I closed it.
It is one of the several (mostly ported) apps, which are unusable on HiDPI
Did you try the Qt interface? It is less shiny than skins but, at least, it will scale with fonts.
This is a side effect of the WINAMP user interface, however you can select the zoom 2X option which improves the visibility on high resolution displays.
after the update Audaious it crash,i cant start it
I fix it with pkgman update and now it works fine:)
Ahoiy !

I wanted to response earlier, but I am fighting with Haiku on my Dell Precision M6700 … seems I may have some HW issues.
Battery has became dead finally, and this or other HW issue also cause that the backlight of display switch off time-after-time, as :
I get BFS panic KDL message
or
no boot at all (stucking at harddrive icon), meanwhile If I switch USB ports sometime I can manage to boot, but it concludes into black display again.
End of OFF TOPIC
Anyway … here - below - my previously conducted answer to the offer to use QT interface …

Well, finally I found the menu and settings last time, so I could do a test with it.
You are right it scales well this way !..
However direct CD play also distorted here - at least continuos, but the playing is not “joyable” :))
It is true … it does not promise such thing primarily …
If I look at in File menu : there is no such ‘Open disc’ , so it was prepared to open music files or whole albums by directories.
I used drag ‘n’ drop the Audio CD icon from desktop - to load the tracks. It seeked the disc and added - completely - the tracks one by one to the playlist. The all tracks appeared, but for the details it added them this way.
Whrn I tried Folder icon (to open this way) then browsed the Desktop linked folder ‘Audio CD’, then the Haiku overlay showed the tracks as .wav files, and annoyingly it had not enabled to choose all at once. I thought it may work only if I select green ‘+’ icon instead of folder icon (yepp, it does this way , multi-selection then works). I just tried out this way to check out what to program does in this case. Then it showed also audio cd tracks, noit wave files, so it is the same result with D ‘n’ D … ( distortion as well )
So, for direct CD play I am going to use SMPlayer …

So far the Dell Precision M6700 HW error got confirmation … I launched a Linux Live system and there also switched off the display and YT in Mozilla Firefox stopped working. I used a newer power adapter, but it had not helped. :((… Farewall my faithful mate … Now I write it on an M6800 End of OFF TOPIC ))
