This is with R1 beta 1. Whether I try to connect to my network with the command line specifying the password, or I attempt to connect from the GUI, I get the message “Could not join wireless network: Not an executable”. This is with WPA2. I believe I’ve used the same system with wifi in an alpha release of Haiku years ago with success (in fact I just upgraded from alpha), but my router was different at the time, so some details may be different.
Is your network name something wierd?
Sounds like the network preflet could use some unit testing and fuzzing.
Maybe better to try a fresh install then?!
If you got a new router your internal ip-address could have changed, happened to me… I have a wireless Laptop which could not access internet because it had the old ip stored…
Since Haiku is a POSIX-compliant system, does it also have naming issues that are found on UNICES and UNIX-likes? Spaces and apostrophes in network names might be causing errors in executing commands if they are not enclosed with quotation marks, just like with directories. Could that be what is happening?
EDIT: Nevermind, @bbarker says in the reply below this that their network’s name is aa24
. Considering that it is a very short and simple name, this should (probably) warrant closer investigation.
The network name is just “aa24” - was trying to keep it simple actually.

Reopening Bug #8351
make sure wpa_supplicant package is installed.
wpa_supplicant-2.7~devel.haiku.1-1-x86_64.hpkg is installed by default in BETA 1. And I can’t get the .hpkg file from buildmaster at haiku site
