Asus EEEPC 101 after boot sequenz the screen stays blank

Hi@all,

i hope someone can help me by my little Problem. I’ve made a bootable SD Card whit the “latest” nightly build of Haiku. The PC is a Asus EEEPC 101. The boot screen runs all icons and swap to the normal working screen, but the screen stays black.
Had also tested to use the failsafe modes (vesa accept…) but no success.

I had tried the regular Alpha version. This version works normal. Booting and working screen, all is wonderful. Except of the not working Ethernet…That was the reason to test the nightly builds.

Hope someone can help or at last give me a hind whats the Problem, why the newer versions will not work on my EEEPC.

Sounds like graphics driver issue. You are seeing the bootscreen with icons & after last icon is lit the screen goes black.

VESA requires selecting “use failsafe mode” + choosing a supported failsafe video mode. If you only choose video mode the OS tries to use the non-VESA graphics driver with that mode.

Do both, so that you enable VESA driver and select a supported resolution.

If you can edit the SD-card check and see if this thread helps, http://www.haiku-os.org/community/forum/vesa_file_fixing_boot_problem good luck.

Note: for my machine I bought a SD-card to USB adapter so I could boot with one SD-card in the slot and edit files on the other plugged into a USB port.

PS, if you get it working, does the touch screen act like a mouse under Haiku-OS?
