Any progress?

Hi Folks,

Has anyone started any work on a printing system yet?

I have a few ideas on where and how this could go…

I know someone started work on this a while ago… but I can’t remember what’s done… I do remember a print-to-pdf functionality that is complete though. Check CVS, as I can’t seem to remember who was working or what was being worked on =)

Print kit seems pretty much to R5 levels, although fairly far behind Dano’s.

print_server works. Print to PDF works. Print addons for parellel, serial, USB, LPR, IPP and HP JetDirect all exist. Print drivers for Canon and HP (and clones) lasers as well as Postscript are in the CVS.

I can’t believe NO moderators have deleted this guys spam!!!

I think the problem is that there aren’t many mods and they don’t read the forums terribly often :frowning:

Then they need to add more mods or add some basic spam protect like capchas

Which are illegal in the EU (image code verification systems), so it’d Not Be a Good Idea ™ to put them on

Then again, having that damn COPPA age verification screen is legally required in the US; and age discriminatory by EU law. Wonders of two different worlds…

Wouldn’t it come down to where the servers are hosted? Granted, I don’t know where they are. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was just given moderator status, so spam shouldn’t be much of a problem. If that particular person is a problem, report him to Kurtis (the webmaster) and he should be able to take care of problems like that in the future.

what? - image verification is illegal in the EU? does that have something to do with visually-impared persons? – I never actually thought about that either – oops :stuck_out_tongue:
